Edith Kerr Barr

She was born in Miami, Florida to the late Eric and Marie Sweeting- Kerr. Educated in Miami, Florida, Edith graduated from Miami Jackson High School with the class of 1969. She furthered her education at Miami Dade Community College.

Edith started her employment career at Jackson Memorial Hospital as a Nurse's Assistant and remained in that capacity for eleven years. Eventually, she transferred to a Social Worker's position with the State of Florida, where she remained until early retirement in 2008.

Survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Alfred "Ray" (A.B.) Barr, her loving five children from that union are, Natasha C. Barr-Duty, Margaret M. Barr-Marsh, Juanita L. Barr-Clark, Alfred R. Barr II, and Eric W. Barr, Warren Soares, Kato Rolle, Nikita Rolle. Grandchildren: Warren Duty Jr., Raymond Duty, Andrew Marsh, Richard Marsh, Shalaijah Soares, Sanaz Soares, Kheidah Soares, Nasiir Soares, Warren Soares, Skye' Soares, Kayden Rolle, Darryl Bell III, Keny Belamour Jr. Son-in-law: Warren Duty, G. Marsh, Aaron Clark. Daughter-in-law Rakisha Smith-Rolle. Two sisters: Helen Kendrick, Shirley Walton. Brother Irvin Kerr. Sister-in-laws Betty Sweeting, Ana Mae Flowers, Paulette Kerr. Brother-in-law Donald Barr, Jimmy Kendrick. Godson: Bobby Johnson and other nieces and nephews.

Visitation on Friday, April 1st from from 5:00 ~ 8:00 P.M. with a Liturgy Service at 7:00 P.M. at St. Agnes Episcopal Church, 1750 N.W. 3 Avenue, Miami, FL. 33127. Funeral Service on Saturday, April 2nd at 11:00 at St. Agnes Episcopal Church. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.

Entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
