Edward R. Pritchett

Edward R. Pritchett (aka Pop-Pop), 84, passed away Saturday August 23, 2014 surrounded by loved ones in Loxahatcohee, FL. Born December 30th, 1929 in Toddville, Maryland. Son of late Arredia and Hillary Pritchett. He grew up with his sisters, Dora, Louise, and Lorraine.

Edward joined the Navy in 1949 and served in the Korean War aboard the aircraft carrier USS Leyte. He joined the Coast Guard in 1955 as a metal smith, worked his way up to aircraft engineer, and retired as Chief Warrant Officer 4 in 1981. He continued working in aviation until 1987 and was also involved in the Masonic Lodge.

Edward married Fay Henry in Maryland in 1954. Due to his employment with the Coast Guard they lived in many states, including New York, Alaska, North Carolina, Oregon, Connecticut, Oklahoma, and Florida. In 1963, Edward and Fay adopted their first child, Rita, and made their family complete when they adopted Eddie in 1965. After his retirement, Edward remained in South Florida near his family, where he was able to spend time with his grandkids: Taylor, Angie, Julie, and Corey. He enjoyed spoiling his family and always made sure everyone was taken care of. Edward loved home cooked family dinners by Fay and being surrounded with loved ones.

Edward is survived by the love of his life: Fay; his sister: Lorraine; his children: Eddie and his wife Linda & Rita and her husband Sal; and his grandchildren: Taylor, Angie, Julie, and Corey; and many nieces and nephews.

Pop-Pop will be missed by his family, but will forever live in their hearts.
