Ed was born on October 21, 1934, in Freeport, New York. Later in his life he moved to South Florida, where he remained the rest of his days. He is survived by his Son, Edward James Slane III and his Grandchildren, Edward James Slane IV, Mackenzie Paige Slane and Carson James Slane.
Ed flew for Eastern Airlines until 1984. Once he retired, he enjoyed his days doing one of his many hobbies which included collecting antique cars and antique fishing tackle. His true passion was fishing, and he would take every opportunity he could to share this passion with his son Edward, and his good friend Larry Lucas.
Ed had a wonderful full life and lived it exactly how he wanted it. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. If he could tell us all one last thing it would be to not mourn his absence, but to celebrate the memories you share together and to always “Keep the Blue Side Up”.
