

Dr Frank J Beasley II, age 91, died Friday, June 8, 2018 at John Knox Village, Pompano Beach, Fl. Frank Johnson Beasley was born in the family home in Athens, Ohio, April 30, 1927 to parents Carl Huntington Beasley and Aurelia Stevens Beasley. Following his high school graduation from the Hill School in Pottstown, PA, Frank served as a medical corpsman at the United States Naval Training Center, Bainbridge, Maryland during the latter years of WWII. This experience led Frank into a life-long interest in medicine. He graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University and Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA., specializing in Ophthalmology.
Frank met Joan Bedwell in Ft Lauderdale, and they married June 28, 1952 while he was in medical school. They enjoyed 56 years together in Ft Lauderdale where he had his private practice until 2012. Frank was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed time with his cousins, and nieces and nephews throughout his life. His family gloried in his drum playing and magic tricks. He was a competitive tennis player well into his 80s. Dr. Beasley was an active member of First Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder and a Deacon, the American Medical Association, the Lago Mar Beach Club, and was the Fleet Surgeon for The Lauderdale Yacht Club.
He is survived by his daughters Liza Ames (Henry), Andrea Walters, Alyson Kass, son Stevens Beasley (Lisa), grandchildren Brittany Apple, Oliver Ames, Bradley Walters, Christian Walters, Sarah Kass, and Andrew Kass, and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Carl and Jack, sister Ann B. Reider, and his beloved wife Joan.
There will be a Gathering at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home, 718 S. Federal Highway Fort Lauderdale, Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 5PM until 7PM and memorial services at First Presbyterian Church, 401 Southeast 15th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at 2PM.
