Heather Marie White, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully due to natural causes on February 10, 2025, in Pembroke Pines. Born on January 18, 1964, in the vibrant island of Jamaica, Heather's life was a testament to her loving nature and her unwavering spirit.
Heather's early years were spent under the warm Jamaican sun, where she attended Ms. Leach Basic School and Buff Bay Primary School. Her academic journey continued at Titchfield High School, followed by Duffs Business College, where she honed the skills that would serve her well throughout her professional life. Heather's career was marked by her dedication and hard work, with notable positions at TSA - Ft. Lauderdale, Miami Dade Elections Office, AutoNation USA, RLM & RGB, Grace Kennedy USA & Western Union, and Grace Kennedy Company Ltd. Beyond her professional achievements, Heather's life was rich with interests and hobbies that brought her immense joy. She had a passion for baking, an art she mastered and shared with all those around her. Her love for dancing and singing was infectious, often becoming the life of any gathering with her vibrant energy. A devout Christian, Heather found solace and strength in her church community, where she was a source of support and inspiration to many.
Heather's most cherished role was that of a matriarch. She was a devoted mother to Roxana Lee-Melhado and Krystalle Fuller-Hindes, and a doting grandmother to Joseph Dandre Melhado, Ariana Melhado, Abigail Hindes, Ryan Melhado, and Ethan Hindes. Her love for her grandchildren knew no bounds, and she took immense pleasure in caring for them and her beautiful orchids. Heather's family was the center of her universe, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will be carried on by her mother, Violet White; her siblings, Bruce, Audrey, Jennifer, Michael, Gary, Judith, Jacqueline, Sandra, Lenworth, Courtney, and Megan; and her son-in-laws, Joseph F. Melhado and Timothy J. Hindes.
Her lifelong best friend, Loreen Harvey-Phipps, will miss Heather's companionship and the countless memories they created together. Heather's presence was a gift to all who knew her, and her absence will be deeply felt by her family, friends, and all who were touched by her kindness.
Heather's life was a reflection of the words of Mother Teresa, "Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love." This quote encapsulates the essence of Heather's approach to life. She may not have sought the spotlight, but in her loving, kind, and faith-filled ways, she achieved greatness in the hearts of those around her.
