

Irene was born in Bronx, NY to Charles and Marie Jenkins Besno on September 10, 1935. She lived many of her years in Youngstown, Ohio where she raised her three daughters and earned a Masters Degree in art education from Youngstown State University. She then moved to Hollywood, Florida where she spent her last 40 years. There she became a real estate agent, helping people find their homes or vacation time shares. Irene was involved in many hobbies and activities. She acted in the local theater, displayed her art and photography in the museums and loved collecting and selling antiques in Youngstown. She was also a model and professional belly dancer, known as Princess Zobeide, for many of her younger years.
Irene is preceded in death by (her father, Charles Jenkins, her mother, Marie Jenkins (Besno), step-father George Besno and her younger brother, Charles Jenkins, Jr.
Irene is survived by her daughters, Thea Manos, Caprice Manos, Desiree Manos and Desiree’s fiance, Doug Kopecki. She is also survived by grandson, Raymond Berry and his wife, Hana Shannir-Berry and their three sons, Abdallah, Hamza and Zayed.
Viewing will be at 10am, July 14, 2023 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church followed by an 11am service by rev. Peter Zougras, officiating.
Burial will follow at Hollywood Memorial Gardens North, arranged by Fred Hunters Memorial Services.
