On February 19, 1925, Irene Shore was born in Boston, Massachusetts. Irene attended college at a time when it was not commonplace for women to get a fine education. She graduated and became a stenographer taking shorthand for a judge. Eventually, Irene married and had four children as a stay-at-home mom for 25 years until she went back to work. Irene was the Secretary to the Miami Metro Dade Chief of Police and retired after 20 years at age 62. At her retirement, the Mayor honored her for her excellent service by declaring January 19th as Irene Shore Day in Miami. Her family is very proud of all her accomplishments and how well-loved she was by everyone who knew her. Irene played classical music and had a piano in the house all her life, even if after a time it was only to hold family photos. She could sing any song at the drop of a hat and leave a legacy of love, laughter, and music to all those that survive her.
There will not be a memorial service therefore the family requests that no flowers be sent.
