It is with great sadness in our hearts that James Philip Ameen, age 22, son of James and Sonia Ameen, passed away on August 13, 2017. At an early age James was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy. He dealt with the progressive weakness of his muscles and loss of abilities, with determination and never complained. He loved music, video gaming and was our families expert on all types of automobiles.
Jimmy will always be remembered for his quiet dignity, his spirit was quiet and strong - and those that got to know him felt it. His life and story has touched the hearts of those he knew and his legacy of love and faith will remain forever.
He is survived by his father and mother, James and Sonia Ameen; brother, Jason Avina; sisters, Jessica Hill and Jannabel Ameen; paternal grandparents, William and Laverne Ameen; maternal grandmother, Carmen Lopez; three nephews, Jaden, Lucas, Zachary; a niece, Sofia, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He will be laid to rest alongside his grandfather, Orlando Lopez.
The Ameen family wishes to express our gratitude to the many family, friends and supporters of Jimmy throughout his journey. Your love and compassion throughout his lifetime will be treasured and something his family will hold close to their hearts the remainder of their lives.
