James “Jim” Michael Richardson Sr., 74, passed away on January 4, 2024 in Dania Beach, FL. Jim was born on February 5, 1950 in Syracuse, NY, and his family moved to South Florida when he was a child. He served his country as an Airborne Ranger in the US Army during the Vietnam war and was honorably discharged after multiple combat injuries. Upon returning home, Jim began a career at the Sun Tattler before moving to the Miami Herald, where he eventually met the love of his life, Nancy, with whom he spent the last 43 years. Jim was known for his strong work ethic and equally strong sense of humor. He loved the woods, Halloween, Nancy’s cooking, ice cream, and war history. Jim is survived by his devoted wife, Nancy; children Jake and Erin (Yuri); stepchildren Juan Carlos (Becky) and Roxana; grandchildren Hayden, Oscar, Teddy, Vanessa, Juan Carlos Jr., Jayson, Anthony, and Yolanda; great-grandchildren Landon, Leilani, and Elianna; siblings Terry, Mark, and Michael; and many nieces and nephews.
