James Richard Rossi, 79, of Naples Florida, passed away peacefully at Cleveland Clinic Hospital on May 9, 2023, surrounded by his wife and sons. Jim was born in Atlantic City New Jersey, on August 13, 1943. He received his early education in Pleasantville, New Jersey and Yeadon, Pennsylvania. Jim received his BA from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, and a master’s degree from Temple University. Jim was very proud to call himself a United States Marine and spent time as a young man in Vietnam. He made a conscience effort to engage in conversation with those wearing the Marine insignia in support of sacrifices given to defend the United States.
Jim owned several companies throughout his life; his most prized being a security alarm company in York, Pennsylvania. Jim, never one to sit still, continued to work later into his life as a business consultant for a home improvement company located in Florida. When not working, Jim would frequent the gym where he would spend countless hours splitting his time between lifting weights and chatting-up fellow workout enthusiasts. He also enjoyed fishing and the occasional round of golf, accompanied by his favorite cigar. What Jim really enjoyed the most was spending time with his loving family.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Catherine; his sons and their spouses, Christopher and Laura Rossi of Westfield NJ, and Michael and Jaclyn Rossi of Lawrenceville NJ, and much-loved grandchildren Alana, Mariella, Alexandra, Savannah and Ryland.
A celebration of life is to follow and will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Disabled American Veterans charity.
