

Jeannette Regina Bryant Brown, 82, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2025, in Zephyrhills, Florida, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on June 18, 1942, in Vero Beach, Florida, Jeannette lived a life rooted in faith, service, and love. She was a proud graduate of Gifford High School, where she was a spirited majorette and cultivated her love for math and science. Jeannette earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Florida A&M University in 1964 and later earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Barry University and Master of Arts in Education from University of Northern Colorado. Her commitment to education and the well-being of others led her to the pioneering achievement of becoming a distinguished Nurse Practitioner, an exceptional achievement for a black woman at that time.
Throughout her life, Jeannette dedicated herself to healthcare and education. As a nurse educator at Indian River Community College and Miami Dade Community College, she mentored and uplifted countless students, leaving a lasting impact on the nursing profession. She was a passionate and active member of the Black Nurses Association, Miami, FL Chapter, and a devoted member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Pembroke Pines, FL. Her unwavering faith, strength, and compassion were a guiding light to all who knew her.
Jeannette’s legacy continues through the family she cherished and the many lives she touched with her grace and generosity. She is survived by her devoted nieces, Sheryll W. Norwood and Lynne W. Johnson; grandnieces Brittney Norwood, Naomi Johnson Singleterry (DJ Singleterry), Celeste Norwood, and Dr. Monet Johnson; great-grandnephew Jaylen Norwood; great-grandnieces Keonna Norwood, Zolynn Singleterry, and Ascena Singleterry, and nephews; Clifford Relford Jr., Michael Relford, and niece Sanoma Relford.
She was a beloved bonus mother to the late Michalis Brown (Susan), Priest Brown (Tina), and Courtney Brown, and the proud bonus grandmother to Kyle Ford, Jeremiah Brown, Courlin Brown, Robert Brown, Chaseton Brown, Christian Brown, Christina Brown, and Patricia Brown.
Jeannette was deeply loved by her sister-in-law and dear friend Dr. E Gail Brown, and was cherished by Gail’s children, Tourek Brown Sr. and Zamarr Brown Sr. She also leaves behind a host of extended family members including Delbert, Kim, and Jevon Floyd; Gary and Glenda Johnson; and many others whose lives she enriched over the years. Her warmth, insight, and kindness touched countless lives and will never be forgotten.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Stone Brother’s Funeral Home in Vero Beach, FL. A Celebration of Life will follow on Saturday, May 17, 2025, beginning at 9:00 AM at St. Peter's Missionary Baptist Church in Vero Beach, with burial immediately afterward at Gifford Cemetery.
Jeannette Regina Bryant Brown’s life was a testimony of faith, resilience, and service. Her light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed, forever loved and forever remembered.
