

John H. Cassidy, Jr., 88, of Hollywood, FL passed away peacefully on Friday, February 17, 2017. Born on July 26, 1928 in Buffalo, NY to John H. Cassidy, Sr. and Beatrice A. Williams, John graduated in 1952 with a B.S. in Economics from Canisius College, Buffalo, NY. Following his graduation, he married Kathleen Ann Mack of Buffalo, NY and enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served three years as a Russian translator, during the Korean War.
After his honorable discharge from the Army in 1955, John joined the General Electric Company, Lamp Division. After fourteen years, he left General Electric to establish his own companies in Miami FL: John Cassidy International, Inc., International Distribution Center, Inc., John Cassidy International Customs Brokers, Inc., John Cassidy and Sons, NV (St. Maarten), and KMack Properties, Inc. All five companies continue to thrive today.
John was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Kathleen Ann Cassidy, brother Mark F. Cassidy, Buffalo NY and his sister Mary Cassidy, of Conneaut, OH.
John is survived by his eight children, Mary Cassidy Brewer, Ann Cassidy, Jane Cassidy (Rob Kelly), John (Maria) Cassidy, Paul Cassidy, Brian (Jeannie) Cassidy, Martha (Kevin) Collier, Eileen Cassidy Mudano, 21 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held at Fred Hunter's Hollywood Memorial Gardens Home on Thursday, February 23, 4:00-8:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 24 at 10:00am, at Nativity Catholic Church, 5220 Johnson Street, Hollywood.
