John Nicholas Kassatly, 90 of Fort Lauderdale, Florida passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025 at Broward Medical Center. He was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts on August 14, 1935, later moving to Brooklyn, NY, then Fort Lauderdale, FL
Where he was a long-time resident. He worked for the City of Fort Lauderdale as a maintenance worker and was a skilled carpenter. John served with honor in the US Army rising to the rank of sergeant. He was a member of The American Legion Post 36 in Fort
Lauderdale, FL.
John is predeceased by his father Joseph Kassatly and his mother Olga Kassatly. He is also predeceased by his brother Freddie Kassatly and sisters Rosemarie and Claire Kassatly.
He is survived by his cousin Charlene Burdi of Brooklyn, NY. He is also survived by his godson
Michael Porcell of Port St Lucie, FL and nephew Daniel Porcell of Cerritos, CA.
A graveside ceremony will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at 1:00pm at Lauderdale Memorial Park Cemetery located at 2001 SW 4th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL.
