

Mr. John S. McLaughlin Sr., passed away at University Hospital November 14, 2015. He was born June 19, 1918 to Grover C. McLaughlin and Wade Silman in Waynesburg, PA. His parents; wife, Anne Delores Helmick (McLaughlin); one daughter, Sondra Ann; brother, Robert A.; Henrietta Sullivan, sister-in-law; Dorothy, sister-in-law; brother, Grover H.; sister-in-law, Brunetta and Richard Sullivan, brother-in-law, all preceded him in death.
John was born in Vanderbilt, PA and graduated from Cumberland Township High School in 1936 in Carmichaels, PA. He was a Sergeant in the Army of The United States; he separated from there May 18, 1946. He retired from Eastern Airlines. He was a faithful member of Faith Presbyterian Church of Pembroke Pines, FL. John was united in marriage to Anne Delores; on to this union two children were born. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.
He leaves to cherish his memory one son, John McLaughlin Jr. (Marilyn) of Miramar, FL and sister Jeanne McMahon (Harry) of North Carolina; niece Melissa McLaughlin Humer (Barry); Marcine McMimm, sister-in-law of Carmichaels, PA; Nancy Johnson, sister-in-law of Ohio; Dorothy Helmick, sister-in-law of Carmichaels, PA; Patricia Geiss (Fred) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Maureen McMahon, niece of North Carolina; Richard Klamerus (Maria), grandson of Arizona; Rodney Klamerus (Elisa) grandson of Arizona; grandchildren, John, Lisa, Jose and Elizabeth Klamerus of Arizona; two other grandchildren (McLaughlin) of South Florida and a great grandchild. Special Friends: Kevin & Joan, Nora, Warren, Cynthia, Brenda & Steve, Kim Gatto and many other wonderful neighbors. Extended Family: Regina (Cecil), Jewel (Lawrence), Char'te Harris, Samantha & Family, Alisha, Aya, & Paris (Kevin), Trenilius (Katherine), Judy, Stacey, Donna, Juanita, Juanita Thompson and other loving members of the family.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015, from 5:00 - 7:00 at the Fred Hunter Funeral Home, 718 South Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale. John will be laid to rest in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg, PA.
