John school was born in New Bern, North Carolina on June 30, 1950. He gradated from Miami Norland Senior High and received a football scholarship to Eastern Kentucky University.
John was married to Diana on May 19, 1973; they were married 49 years.
John worked as a cement mason for over 50 years and was a Supervisor for Baker Concrete Construction for the past 10 years. He enjoyed fishing, wood working, home improvement projects, and working on cars.
John is survived by his wife Diana, grandchildren- Cole, Jackson, Camryn, and Kate, brothers- James, David, and Thomas along with children- Ashle, Arin, and John, along with other family and friends.
John is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Florence Schmidt, brother Larry, and sisters Mary Loise and Patricia
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in the name of John Thomas Schmidt to the American Cancer Society.
