Joseph B. Davis Jr., passed away May 22, 2016. He was born November 24, 1935 in Knoxville, Tennessee. As a young man, Joe enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He earned his Bachelor's degree from Florida State University, followed by a Master's degree from Nova Southeastern while being active in the Navy reserves.
Joe began his career in Fort Lauderdale working with juveniles in the justice system. He then worked for H.R.S. and retired as Assistant Director of Court Probation. Joe is survived by his children, Joseph B. Davis III and Diana Davis; two grandchildren, Christopher and Thomas Chung and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 3, 2016 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Fred Hunter Funeral Home, 718 S. Federal Hwy, Ft. Lauderdale 33316 with a Graveside Service at 2:30 pm at Lauderdale Memorial Park, 2001 SW 4th Ave., Ft. Lauderdale 33315. www.fredhunters.com
