

Pandit Krishna Seeram Maharaj was wise, faith-filled, loved and passionate about supporting the Hindu Community.
Born in Garth Road in Princes Town, Trinidad, Pandit Krishna Seeram Maharaj was predeceased by his beloved parents, Seeram and Kowsilla Maharaj, and his siblings, Gangabisson Maharaj, Samnarine Maharaj, Kowsil Maharaj, and Phulo Maharaj.
Pandit Krishna is survived by his sons Jaganath Seeram Maharaj (Vashti Seeram Maharaj), Ramy Maharaj (Anjanie Maharaj), Naitram Maharaj (Indira Maharaj); daughters Marie Maharaj (Regan Choonie), Dolly Maharaj (Robin Maharaj), Kumarie Maharajh (Pt. Vishwanath Maharajh), Annie Maharaj (Maynesh Maharaj), Mintrani Seeram Maharaj (Rajeev Maharaj); and grandchildren Neera Maharaj, Shane Choonie, Niala Maharaj, Vasishta Maharaj, Yashiv Maharaj, Arun Maharaj, Daveda Maharaj, Kaveesh Maharaj, Devanie Maharaj, Aneela Maharaj, Naveet Maharaj, Sharda Maharaj, Kishen Maharaj, Navita Maharaj, Divya Maharaj, Anushka Sharma, Vivek Maharajh, Amber Maharaj, Pravish Maharaj, and Gitanjali Maharaj; great-grand children Anasuriya, Ishani, Adinath, Aadav, Janhvi, Simran, Veer, Shweta, Raghav, Aashvi, Avish, Ishan, Milo, Remy, Sahaj, Samira and Sajan; siblings Balraj Maharaj (Bimla Devi) , Ram Maharaj (Hafie), Raj Maharaj, Sadhanan Maharaj (Zoe); and many loving nieces and nephews.
Pandit Krishna immersed himself in religious study, often found late at night or at 4 AM, deeply engrossed in scripture. His books, heavily flagged, highlighted, and annotated, were a testament to his dedication. He spent countless hours preparing for lectures, believing in the importance of preparation and striving for excellence.
His love for his wife of 70 years, Phoolmatee Seeram Maharaj, was unwavering from the moment they met, remaining steadfast and true until the end. His children and family were his greatest treasures. He cherished bringing people together and teaching the significance of religion in community life. Pandit Krishna also enjoyed family outings and treasured the time spent with his loved ones.
While known prominently for his pioneering in Sanatan Dharma, many may not know that Pandit Krishna also attended trade schools which were a large part of his other work in addition to practicing as a Pandit:
• Electrical Lighting and Wiring Certification, Bennett College (1964)
• Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Certificate, Brooklyn YMCA Trade School (1971)
His unparalleled work ethic set a high benchmark for his children and successors. His many accolades are a source of pride for our family.

• Community Service Award by Indian Arrival Day Celebration Committee for Contribution and Dedicated Service to the South Florida Community in the Field of Indian Art & Culture (2014)
• Recognized for his contributions to cultural diversity and Dharma by Florida Sevashram Sangh (2004)
• Honored by Broward County for Leadership and Commitment to Preserve the Hindu Dharma (2004)
