Lori Ann Faulkner was born on October 1, 1965, in Minneapolis, MN to Richard and Beverly Dawson. In 1969 she relocated to Hollywood, Florida with her family. While there, Lori attended Oakridge Elementary, Olsen Middle and South Broward High School, graduating with the Class of 1983. She furthered her education at Hodges University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science. Lori met and married Richard Faulkner on October 19, 1985, in Hollywood, Florida. Together they had two boys, Christopher Faulkner born December 2, 1984, and David Faulkner born April 8, 1988. After working in the banking industry for many years, Lori decided she wanted to better serve others and transitioned to the medical field where she became a phlebotomist and worked for Quest Diagnostics. This allowed interaction with patients that helped fill the need to serve others. She often joked that “she got to go to work and stab people for a living.” Lori’s hobbies included dancing, (she took Ballroom Dance lessons for 3 years with her husband), arts & crafts, as well as any outdoor activities. Lori loved to help those in need. Over the years she convinced her husband to take in several people who needed support through many different issues such as substance abuse, marital problems, or health issues. Her rescue dog, Riley, helped her have comfort during the most difficult days. She was full of life and loved nature. She liked to ride ATVs and dirt bikes and do things like zip lining or canoe trips down the springs. Lori always had such a positive outlook on life and loved to pass that on to others. Lori went home to be with the Lord on July 8, 2023, after a difficult battle with pancreatic cancer.
Lori leaves loving memories in the hearts of her husband, Richard Faulkner, her mother Beverly (Palluck) Dawson, her sons Chris Faulkner and David Faulkner, her brothers George (Christine) Dawson and James (Kim) Dawson, her granddaughter Rose Faulkner, and hosts of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Richard Dawson, her paternal grandparents Loretta (George) Cavanagh and Harold Dawson Sr. and her maternal grandparents Leo and Ella Palluck.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted in Lori’s memory to The National Pancreas Foundation.
