Manuel (Aling) Ruiz Salazar, of Miramar, Fla., 78, joined his three brothers in heaven on September 30, 2020. He was born in Indang, Cavite, Philippines and immigrated to the United States in 1983. After devoting fifteen years of service to the North Miami Beach US Post Office, he retired in 2002. In retirement he enjoyed traveling, photography, and spending time with his growing family. He kept a daily routine of word puzzles and nightly Jeopardy as well as occasionally inventing clever home improvement solutions. Manuel was passionate about cultivating his lush orchids and fruit trees, collecting patches and rare coins, and practicing several musical instruments such as the piano, flute, and violin. He was loved by all and loved everyone, including the many animals in his care.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Belen Zabala Salazar; two children, Mabel Jean Salazar (Lee Wolland) and Manuel Jose Salazar, and vast extended families in the US and Indang.
