Mariana was born in Valparaiso, Chile to Alfredo Cortes and Blanca de la Maza on June 22nd, 1933. She married Alex Denis-Lay in 1964 in New York. She worked in International Marketing at The Miami Seaquarium for over 20 years and played a significant role in bringing tourism to Miami.
Mariana is preceded in death by her husband, Alex Denis-Lay.
Mariana is survived by her children: Mariana, Alex, Veronica, Chris and Anthony. Siblings: Maria Isabel, Francisco, Maria Cristina, Camilo, Jose Miguel. Grandchildren: Nina, Nick, Kaelyn, Natalia, Anthony, Catherine, Christian and Sebastian.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at 10:30 in the morning on the 8th of May at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Arrangements are by Fred Hunter.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The Bougainvilla House or Abandoned Pet Rescue.
