

Marie T Rubano-Mulligan, a resident of Fort Lauderdale, FL since the early 30’s, died unexpectedly on July 14th, 2021 at the age of 103. She lived under the loving care of her great nephew, Joseph Rubano III and her niece, Gloria Jean Rubano.
Marie T Rubano-Mulligan was born in Teaneck, New Jersey on March 25th, 1918 to Joseph Vincent Rubano and Concetta Menella. She married Spero John Mulligan in 1951 who established and founded with partners Reynolds and Porter, RPM Diesel company in 1956. She worked as a professional bookkeeper in the company for many years and was instrumental in bringing her two brothers Joseph John Rubano Sr. and Vincent Rubano into the company after Reynolds and Porter’s departure. To this day day RPM has established itself as the leading Detroit Diesel Service center and dealer in the country. It’s success has allowed the company to diversify into many other branches of the industry under the Rubano/Mulligan ownership. She later acquired with her brother Joseph Rubano Sr, Diesel Services of America which is now also a growing company.
Marie loved Joseph John Rubano Jr. (Joey) like her own son, and loved his wife and children like a grandmother. She enjoyed music, dancing, and would not miss a social gathering by any of her friends and family. She was a wonderful story teller and loved telling all the wonderful things she experienced in her life. Marie was always sharp, witty, and ready to jump into action at a moment’s notice. Marie will be deeply missed by friends, family, and all who have been blessed to have known her.
Marie T. Rubano-Mulligan is survived by her great nephew Joseph John Rubano III and great niece Nicollete M Rubano, her niece Gloria Jean Rubano, her sister-in-law Dolores Rubano, her niece-in-law Mary Jane Bunch, her niece Judy Scala, her great niece Tina Lowry, great nephew Tim Scala, and niece Theresa Berry.
In accordance with her life long wishes, she will be laid to rest alongside her beloved late husband Spero and her dear mother Concetta. The funeral services will be held on Thursday July 22nd at Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home; located at 718 S Federal Hwy, Fort Lauderdale, FL; from 530-830pm. Church services will be held at 12 noon on Friday July 23 at Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church. Her final resting place will be at Forest Lawn South.
