Mira was born in Banja Luka, Yugoslavia on March 3rd, 1939 to Rajko Trivundza and Dosta Berendika.
Mira’s early life was marked by hardship due to the separation from her father Rajko who, as a soldier in the Serbian Army, had been captured and held in a German prison camp for five years. Additionally, Mira’s beloved mother Dosta passed away at a young age leaving Mira in the loving care of her devoted paternal grandparents. Mira’s young life in Yugoslavia was filled with sadness and hardships, but she persevered and dreamed of reuniting with her father who had immigrated to America upon the conclusion of World War 2. Mira’s dream came true when at the age of 18, she, too, immigrated to America. Upon her arrival, Mira worked diligently to establish herself. She took a job working in a factory and attended school four nights a week. Her determination and hard work led her to become a successful hairdresser. She proudly opened her own salon “Coiffures by Mira” in Creve Coeur, MO. Mira was beloved by her clients and built lasting relationships throughout her career. After selling her salon to her good friend Betty, Mira followed in the footsteps of several of her friends and moved to sunny Florida where she was a member of the Serbian Orthodox Church. Mira’s life in Florida was filled with warmth, sunshine and cherished friendships.
Mira is preceded in death by her mother and father.
Mira is survived by her two brothers Marko and Boris Trivundza and her sister Dinah Trivundza Cassady as well as her seven nephews and nieces: Nick Trivundza, Natalie Trivundza Thomson, Matt Trivundza, Chris Ahlheim, Lauren Ahlheim Grubbs (Goddaughter), Alex Trivundza Holtzman, Blake Trivundza and her Goddaughter, Nina M. Haskin.
Friends and family are invited to join in honoring Mira’s remarkable life. Visitation will begin at noon on Friday March 7th, 2025 at Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home in Hollywood, FL with a funeral service and burial to follow.
The family of Mira wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Mira’s dear friend, Lynn Baron and to Preet Sahi of Assisted Living of Broward, Inc. for their care and devotion to Mira in her final years.
