

Miriam Roberta Parks, born on August 16,1923 in St. James Parish, Jamaica, WI. She passed away at 96 years old,of natural causes in Clermont, FL USA on July 12th, 2020, surrounded by family, friends,devoted clergy and church members.
The funeral services will be streamed online on July 25 th at 10:00 AM and hosted by Fred Hunter Funeral Services. Officiating the service will be, Bishop Kerwin Hunte,Sr. of International Harvest Church of God of Orlando, Florida where she was a loved member in her later years. She will be interred at Hollywood Memorial Gardens East in Hollywood Florida.
As an ambitious young woman, Miriam was a local store co-owner and investor, who specialized in food services. She was also a meticulous homemaker to her only child Grace and loving partner Allan Isaacs. In 1961, she moved to New York where she established a successful career in healthcare and married to become Mrs. Parks, then several years later to be widowed. In 1981, she decided to move to Miami where she continued to work in healthcare and later transitioned into retirement. During her time in Miami, she nurtured a large and loving base of friends and extended family. Miriam loved attending church at Parkway Baptist and Sierra Norwood Baptist Church, both located in Miami Gardens, FL. In 2014 she moved to Orlando Florida to be closer to family. She continued her love of worship at International Harvest Church of God in Orlando FL. Good cooking was always a passion of hers and she soon became known in the area for her delicious dishes, some of which she catered and some she lovingly gave and served to her friends and church brothers and sisters at home and at various functions. She was known for dressing with a stylish,elegance. She coached many young women in lessons of social etiquette and the importance of education for all young people. She supported her favorite charities like The March of Dimes for many years. She also enjoyed volunteering with the League of Women Voters at designated voting precincts from Miami to Pembroke Pines during national elections.
Miriam Parks is survived by her loving daughter Grace Isaacs Cox, her grandchildren, Alisa Cox and Michelle Isaacs, her great-grandchildren, Amaya Alexis and Zyhir Dyles. She also has countless nieces, nephews and loving friends throughout England, the United States and Jamaica who all will dearly miss her.

Although we appreciate and are grateful to several persons who cared for Miriam during her last days of life, the family of Miriam Parks wishes to publicly thank Mrs. Orientia Foster for all her devotion and attentiveness to Miriam. We are forever grateful to you.
