Richard was born on January 1, 1937 in Belmont Hospital of the City of Chicago, Illinois. He was the oldest of 4 children.
He served in the United States Coast Guard from April 19th, 1960 - April 17th 1964. He was a Law Enforcement Officer from February 24th, 1969 until April 29th, 1990. He began his Law Enforcement career with the City of North Miami and later with Metro Dade Police Department until his retirement as a Police Sergeant.
He is survived by his two children, Thomas of Richmond, Virginia and Belinda of Miramar, Florida and five grandchildren, Richard, Heidi, Christopher, Alyssa and Nicholas.
He is further survived by his loving sisters Karen and Linda and younger brother Lawrence. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Richard Otto Keller, step father Philip Brown and mother Josephine Brown.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home on
Saturday October 16th, 2010 from 3pm -5pm.
