

Born in New Orleans, Louisiana on March 8, 1926 the last surviving of ten children born to Charles A. and Deborah V. (Sasso) Levy. Mr. Levy and his family moved to Union Township, New Jersey where he lived for many years before coming to South Florida in 1968.
Richard was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during both WW II and the Korean War, attaining the rank of Lieutenant. He was a faithful member of the James M. Walley Jr. Masonic Lodge 300, being initiated in 1949 and raised to Master Mason in 1954.
His beloved wife of 49 years, Selma (Fischer) Levy died on July 20, 2003. Survived by his children, Donna Holland, MD and her husband, Peter Holland, MD, Sharon Grier and her husband, Kenneth Grier, Richard L. Levy and his wife, Linda Levy. He is also survived by 6 adored grandchildren, 2 great- grandchildren, sisters and brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 19th at 10:30 A.M. at Fred Hunter's Hollywood Memorial Home, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood with Rabbi David Englander officiating. Entombment will follow at Star of David Mausoleum at Hollywood Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Shiva will be held at the Holland home in Boca Raton. The family requests contributions in his memory be made to Smile Train or other charity meaningful to the giver.
