Although originally from NY, Rick spent most of his adult life in Florida. He formerly was a commodities broker and had previously worked for the Dictaphone Corporation and Eastern Airlines.
He is survived by his sister Jean Powell Brandon, nephews Michael Brandon (Karen) and David Brandon, longtime companion Timianne McCarthy, cousins Anne Maxwell Yamada (Terry), Rosalind Liston Newman (Phil) and Loretta Jackson and his beloved dog Connor. He is preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Jewel Powell.
