Robert Patrick Brandow (better known as Bob, Bobby, Dad, and Pop-Pop), age 76, passed away on April 2, 2023, in Hollywood, Florida. Bob was born on July 31, 1946, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Louis and Bernice Brandow. Bob was raised in Souderton, PA, and has been a long-time resident of South Florida for the past 60 years.
Bob graduated from South Broward High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served as a Sergeant and paratrooper. Bob went on to become a very skilled and talented Crane Operator, starting his career with Lawson Crane, and continuing most of his lifelong work with Gold Coast Crane Service. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers (Local 675/487) from 1969 through his retirement in 2010. Bob was a true lover of nature, animals, and wildlife. He participated in The Nature Conservancy, Audubon Society and Sierra Club, and was highly instrumental and successful in the protection and preservation of the beautiful oak hammocks surrounding his home, recently receiving a Certificate of Recognition in October 2022 for his contributions. He was known to many as “Jungle Man.”
Bob is survived by his spouse, Karen Brandow; His siblings, Sharon Brandow, Francine Brandow Gilbert, brother-in-law Bill Gilbert, and Joseph Brandow; His children, Cheri Brandow, Cathy Brandow, and son-in-law David Walesky; His grandchildren, Nicholas, Brooke, Ashlee, and Trenton; His great-grandchildren, Brealyn, Royall, and Jaxton, along with loving family members, Donald Force, Michael Trussell, Danny Krumsieck, Michele Krumsieck, amongst many other close relatives and friendships in which Bob cherished dearly throughout his life. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Bernice Brandow, his brother Jack Trussell, his late wife and mother of his children, Elaine Krumsieck, and other beloved family members and dear friends, all of whom are missed and loved, though will remain in our hearts and thoughts forever.
