February 24, 1921 - March 24, 2013
Roberta Lillian Sherrard came into this world on February 24th, 1921 in the town of Lincoln, Missouri. Her parents, Russell and Cora were from farming backgrounds. While growing up in rural settings her father ended up starting a small store in Coal Valley, Illinois by the time she was an adolescent. She passed her time while falling in love with her guitar and singing.
She later met and married William (Pete) Larvenz and lived with him in the Moline, Illinois area. During that time, she gave birth to four sons before moving to Hollywood, Florida in 1957 where her parents had moved several years earlier. She somehow survived raising four sons; this was not an easy feat. She was able to enjoy her parents until the end of their lives as they lived next door. As her last son attended his senior year of high school, her husband Pete suddenly died leaving her alone with her sons as her mother had passed away the year earlier.
She met and married Eric Erickson from New York. She lived with him for a short time in New York until Eric was able to retire and return with her to Hollywood. She lived with Eric until he passed away in the early 1990's. During that period she also had the pleasure of living with several of her grandchildren. During the 1990's through around 2003 she enjoyed regular family get togethers. She then moved to Roswell, Georgia and lived with her son Russell. She lived with him until 2011 when she moved to Ashton, Maryland to live with her son Gregory before returning to Pembroke Pines.
During her life, Roberta had a chance to enjoy traveling, playing games but she always seemed happiest when taking care of others or surrounded by her family. She had a rich and long life leaving a trail of people who will remember and love her forever.
All four of her sons survive her. Her son Lauren Larvenz lives in Coral Springs, Russell Larvenz continues to live in Roswell, Georgia, Steven Larvenz lives in Pembroke Pines and Gregory Larvenz is now in Palm Beach Gardens. Her daughters-in-law, Betsy Larvenz, Bridget Larvenz and Donna Larvenz were very close to her and survive her as well. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren Shawn Larvenz, Tracey Larvenz, Kristen Woodward, Keith Woodward, Jason Larvenz, Darby Larvenz, Amy Larvenz and Todd Larvenz and 3 great grandchildren.
Roberta quietly left us last Sunday March 24th, she will be greatly missed.
