Rodolfo Quintero, age 53, passed away on December 18, 2025, in Hollywood, Florida after a long and courageous battle. His funeral service will be held this Sunday, December 21, at Fred Hunter Funeral Home in Hollywood, Florida.
Rodolfo was born on August 21, 1972, in Habana, Cuba to Miriam Comas and Salvador Quintero. He was a lifelong dreamer who grew up under a socialist totalitarian regime, always hoping for a future filled with freedom. Rodolfo made a brave attempt to achieve this dream, even spending time detained at Guantanamo Bay, never losing hope for a life in the United States.
In 1994, Rodolfo and his father made another bold attempt to escape, facing life-threatening challenges on the high seas for days. By the grace of God, they arrived safely on the shores of Florida, where Rodolfo finally realized his American Dream.
Soon after settling in Miami, Rodolfo met and married Maytte Reyes. Together, they built a strong bond that carried them through all the highs and lows of life. Their resilience and commitment to each other never wavered. Rodolfo was known as a jack of many trades and was always willing to help others, often described as the man who would give the shirt off his back. His radiant smile could light up any room, and he was deeply loved by all who knew him.
Beyond his devotion to his family, Rodolfo had a passion for celebrations and gatherings, especially those by the ocean. He cherished sunsets and sunrises and felt most at home while fishing and swimming with family and friends.
Rodolfo is survived by his loving spouse, Maytte Reyes; his children, Aronda and Evenn Quintero and Nicholas Gonzales; his granddaughter, Miley; his mother, Miriam Comas; and his sisters, Adriana and Heidi and his niece Aileen.
