Rosalee was born Rocksound, Eleuthera, Bahamas to Samuel M. Knowles and Mary S. Knowles on May 29, 1925. She attended school at Rocksound and helped her parents by taking care of her younger brothers and sisters and other chores. She married Percy Ellis Roberts on August 22, 1942 in Nassau, Bahamas (interesting fact their marriage certificate was signed by King Edward VIII). In 1952 Rosalee and her family moved to Miami, Florida where she went to work for Williams grocery store and then Publix Supermarket as a produce manager for 20 years.
Rosalee is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel McGregor Knowles, Mary Susan Knowles and her eight siblings Lorenza Bittle, Joyce Pinder, Jessie Penderton, Mildred Powell, Elmore Knowles, Gloria Knowles, Norman Knowles and Samuel Knowles.
Rosalee or “Bam” (how she was known by her grandkids and great grandkids) is survived by Joan Chartrand, Chris Roberts SR, Dean Chartrand, Brian Chartrand, Chris Roberts JR, Suzanne Capote, Kelsey Chartrand, William Chartrand, Devlin Chartrand, Kyle Chartrand, Justin Roberts, Maria Capote and Wiley Capote.
