Rose M. Santo, 91, of Plantation, FL, passed away December 29, 2016. She was born June 16, 1925, in Dumont, New Jersey, the daughter of Adelchi and Antonette (LaForgia) Casamassima. Rose moved to south Florida in 1969, coming from Norwood, NJ. She has lived in Plantation for the last 20 years.
Rose worked many years as a hairdresser and a manicurist. She had a heart of gold and always had an upbeat, positive outlook on life. She had a fun, competitive spirit and loved playing tennis and golf. She was an avid movie goer, always first in line for a new release. Rose was a passionate poker player. She was well known in the Poker Room at the Hard Rock Casino and in the clubhouse at Lauderdale West, her community. Most of all, Rose enjoyed spending time taking her grandchildren and great grandchildren to the park, to the movies and teaching them how to play ping pong and gin-rummy.
Rose is survived by her children, Adele Rovetto, Phyllis Tannebaum (Ronald) and Peter Cosentino; grandchildren, Sal, Daniel (Gina), Taylor, Jake, Arianna, and Aaron; great-grandchildren, Dominic, Marco, Rocco and Gino; nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bernard, in 2007; her parents, one brother and one sister.
