Ruby Mae Truesdale Thomas McGriff McCoy

Ruby Mae Truesdale Thomas McGriff McCoy passed away at the age of 75 on August 21st, 2022 in Ft. Pierce, FL. She was born February 08, 1947 in Cairo, Georgia to the late James Edward Thomas Sr. and Mary Truesdale Jones. Ruby's travels soon brought her to South Florida where she attended Broward Community College to become a nursing assistant. She was employed by Surgical Associates of Hollywood, FL where she later retired. Her devotion is reflected by her dedication and commitment to her patients, doctors and staff. In her later years, Ruby left her comfort zone and decided to travel.

Ruby loved flea markets, thrift stores and going to the casino. She enjoyed gardening, watching Lifetime and walking around the neighborhood with friends but more than anything… she loved her children and adored her grandchildren. Ruby and her late husband, Sergeant Major of the United States Marine Corps, Samuel Franklin McCoy Sr., were also foster parents to a number of children. Ruby was loved by so many, and she built a life dedicated to serving others. Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Flecia Denise McGriff, Samantha Ann McCoy and Monique Wilcox; her sons, Eric Lewis McGriff and Samuel Franklin McCoy Jr.; her grandchildren, Eric McGriff Jr., Erica Nicole McGriff and Omari Jack McCoy; her siblings, Judy Swickord, Nickolette Thomas, Levon Thomas (Val),Willie Anitris “Boo Boo” Jones, Bobby Jones and Linda McCall (Alex Sr.). She was preceded in death by her son, Boise Lee McGriff; her siblings, Lela “Fuzzy” Thomas and James Thomas Jr. (Cindy).

Ruby Mae Truesdale Thomas McGriff McCoy will be dearly missed.
