

Teresa May Coopman, 87, of Hollywood, FL, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday morning, January 26, 2016 at home. A service and viewing will be held Sunday, January 31 at Fred Hunters Funeral Home, 6301 Taft St., Hollywood, FL. A funeral Mass will be held at a later date TBD at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Miramar, FL. Teresa was born May 16, 1928 in Cleveland, IL, daughter of John Gregory and Mary Imelda Newbery Stohl. Teresa graduated from Western Illinois University in 1950 majoring in Music. After college Teresa taught music in Nebraska and later in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. She married Robert Richard (Bob) Coopman on June 21, 1952 in Colona, IL. Teresa remained active in music throughout her life. Her most recent activities included daily work with chord construction. She recently held the office of President of the Music Club of Hollywood and the Royal Poinciana District of FL Federation of Music Clubs. Teresa was devoted to her family and was recently called the glue that held (even the extended) family together. She is survived by husband Robert (Bob), Hollywood; children Donna Coopman and Mary Coopman, Hollywood, Teresa (Luis) Albuerne, Houston, TX, Robert (Chai Chien) Coopman, Hollywood, Gregory (Mai) Coopman, Arlington, TX; and 7 grandchildren. Teresa was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Bill and Wayne; and two sisters, Viola Peterson and Rosemary Bybee.
