

Theresa (Terry) Helen Wiatr Sherman, 74, passed away on Sunday, May 3rd, 2015 at her home, in Sunrise, FL. She was born on April 21st, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois to John S. and Rose V. (Wisniewski) Wiatr.
Terry was baptized into the Catholic faith on May 11th, 1941 and grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, IL. She graduated from East Leyden High School in Franklin Park, IL on June 11th, 1959. She recalled fondly working for Rubenstein Lumber Company in IL and then Rudyard Area Schools when she moved to Michigan, making many friendships that lasted through the years. Terry enjoyed dining out, reading mysteries and spending time with her grandchildren.
Terry married Gary D. Sherman in 1962 in Schiller Park, IL. They divorced in 1990 and he preceded her in death in April of 2002.
Terry was also preceded in death by her parents, John and Rose Wiatr as well as a stillborn baby girl. She joins them and many other relatives and loved ones in joyful reunion in the presence of God.
Terry is survived by her son, Jeffrey Sherman and his wife Chantal of Jacksonville, FL and her daughter Kristen Marie (Sherman) and husband Randy Stokes of Sunrise, FL along with their children, Mikayla and Garrett, who in Terry's words, "were her whole world". She is also survived by her sister Mary Andrashie and spouse Anthony of Wausau, WI and brothers John A. Wiatr, and wife Eunice of Red Bud, IL, Joseph Wiatr and wife Sandy of Glendale, AZ, Albert Wiatr and wife Pearl of Streamwood, IL, Stephen Wiatr and wife Mira of Niles, IL and Michael Wiatr along with Patricia of Rosemont, IL as well as many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave. Norridge, IL 60706 from 6 to 8pm on Friday, July 24th. A memorial mass will be held at St. Beatrice Catholic Church 9701 Irving Park Rd. Schiller Park, IL 60176 at 10am on Saturday, July 25th followed by a Committal Service at All Saints Cemetery 700 N. River Rd. Des Plaines, IL 60016. Following the services, the family invites relatives and friends to a memorial luncheon in Terry's honor at White Eagle Banquets & Restaurant 6839 N. Milwaukee Ave. Niles, IL 60714.
