Vito L. Nardozza, 93, best known for his life-long passion for dancing as the locally famed husband and wife dancing duo of "Vito and Fran," went home to the Lord on November 28, 2016 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL after an extended illness. He was born in Rome, NY on July 6, 1923 as the youngest son of Nicola Nardozza and Maria Carmela (Guglielmo) Nardozza, both of whom immigrated from Italy. Vito graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1943, and served in the Army Corp of Engineers during World War II. Vito and his family moved several times due to work transfers taking up residences in Rome and Syracuse, New York; and Daytona Beach, Winter Park, Miami, and Sunrise, Florida, his final place of residence.
Vito and Fran competed in, and won, an untold number of dance contests over the years ranging from jitterbug and swing, to ballroom, disco, and other contemporary dance styles. When not competing, Vito was always ready to put on a show, be it at night clubs, parties, weddings or at family gatherings.
In addition to his wife Frances, Vito is survived by his daughter Carmel Ann Nardozza, Sunrise, FL, son Nick Nardozza, Boonville, NY and son and daughter in-law Frank and Anne Nardozza, Davie, FL.
