
Bill was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.
Bill attended Valparaiso University where he was president of his freshman class, active in the drama and choral departments; and graduated in 1949 as a chemistry/zoology major.
He enrolled in the Army and attended the Army Language School where after studying Russian; served as an Interpreter during the Korean conflict.
In 1959 Bill married Dorothy “Dolly” Richer at Bethany Lutheran Church. They had two daughters, Judith and Rachel. The family moved to Cincinnati in 1962 and to Hollywood, FL in 1973.
After retiring from his career as a pigment/ink chemist; Bill worked part-time for the Broward County Library.
Bill put much value in his Christian faith, his family, church and friends. He was a dedicated husband and father. Bill loved music and reading; as well as his dogs, travel and games of every kind.
Throughout frequent hospitalizations and health issues in his later years; he remained a source of blessing to his family, home aides, friends and health care workers with his kind and cheerful manner.
Bill is survived by his daughter Judy & Rachel, nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy “Dolly”, parents William & Gertrude, brothers Stuart & Gordon, sister Grace and nephew Glenn.
A memorial service will be held August 9th at 11am; Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 7601 SW 39th Street, Davie, Florida 33328.
