

Yolanda B. Gonzalez, affectionately known as Yoly by her loved ones, passed away peacefully on the 14th of October, 2025, in Coral Springs, surrounded by the warmth of family. A spirit of undeniable intelligence, thoughtfulness, and generosity, Yoly was born on the 9th of November, 1928, in the vibrant country of Cuba and embarked on an incredible journey that spanned 96 remarkable years.
Yoly's extensive wisdom and benevolence touched many lives, beginning with her esteemed career as a teacher in Cuba. Her passion for education and love for her students were evident in her dedication and the lasting impact she made in her community. Nonetheless, her aspirations didn't stop at the classroom door; when Yoly planted her roots in the United States, she continued to work tirelessly, demonstrating an impressive work ethic that inspired all who knew her.
Family was the centerpiece of Yoly's world, and she was a treasured matriarch. She is survived by her devoted sons, Otto and Agustin Gonzalez, who will carry forward the legacy of love and resilience she instilled in them. Her grandchildren, Jessica and Daniel Mieses Gonzalez, were the apples of her eye, and through them, Yoly's spirit and teachings will continue to flourish for generations to come.
Beyond her professional accomplishments and dedication to her family, Yoly was a curious soul with a profound appreciation for the natural world. An avid reader, she found solace and joy in the pages of countless books, which were rivaled only by her love for birds and the serene beauty of nature. Her intellect was ever-growing, and her thoughts were a wellspring of wisdom shared graciously with all.
Yoly's departure is deeply felt by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have their lives graced by her presence. She was a beacon of light, guiding with her thoughtful nature and boundless generosity. As we bid farewell to Yolanda B. Gonzalez, we celebrate a life exceptionally well-lived, and her spirit will continue to illuminate the paths of those she loved. Her memory will be cherished, and her teachings and love will be the guiding stars in the lives she has left behind. Rest in peace, dear Yoly, knowing you have made this world a better place.
A Family and Friends Gathering will be held at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home, located at 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, FL 33024, on October 26, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
A Celebration of Life will also take place at the same venue on October 26, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
