He was a banker for Chase Bank in Manhattan for several years and later owned a photography studio in Miami - Little Haiti, in the 80’s, after moving to Miami with his wife and children. He was a family man with a robust voice and a kind gentle soul.
Yvon will be remembered by his family, relatives and friends for his unwavering kindness. He was always there to lend a helping hand, or a healing hand, offering health tips and natural remedies as a small token of his care and a testament to his thoughtful and caring personality.

Yvon is survived by his wife, Ganine Sylvain-Avin; his son Gary Avin and his spouse Jennifer Avin; his sister Nadge Avin; and his grandchildren, Cedrick Avin, Nayah Avin, Eric Avin, Liam Avin, Keila King, and Ambrielle Avin and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Final arrangements are by Fred Hunter’s Funeral home. In lieu of a funeral, Yvon’s wishes were to have a direct cremation. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held for family. His ashes will be disbursed at sea by his son at a later date.
The family of Yvon wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the Hope Pace staff at the Miramar Senior Center for quality of life care, and to Glades West nursing staff, hospice staff and administrative staff, for the compassionate care he received in his final days.
