

Ethel Mae was born Nov 8, 1914 in New Bloomfield, MO, (Dixie area) to Emery Houston Jones and Hallie Moore Dolman Jones. On August 11, 1937, she married Albert L. Miller of New Bloomfield, MO, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include: three children (Donald G Miller and wife, Dana, of MO; Linda F Verner and husband, Lewis, of NE; and Jerry W Miller and wife, Kathy, of IL), seven grandchildren (Daren Miller and wife, Belynda of HI; Jeff Miller and wife, Christina, of TX; Dawn Johnston and husband, Neal, of MI; Julie Nemeth and husband, Todd, of IL; Joan Cain and husband, Kevin, of Kenya; Lashara Verner of NE; and Lawton Verner and wife, Cassandra, of CA), thirteen great-grandchildren (Jordan and Rebeka Miller, Jacob, Justice, Jerimiah, Jael, and Jude Miller, Harrison Johnston, Jason and Josie Nemeth, Gabe and Hannah Cain, and Isela Verner), one great-great granddaughter (Madelyn Miller), two brothers, one sister, and four sisters-in-law (Dorris Jones, Harold Dean Jones, Georgia Hampton, Margaret Jones, Irene Jones, Nellie Jones, and Leone Jones) and many wonderful nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Ethel Mae was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Carl Lee Miller, a grandson, Jason Miller, a great-granddaughter, AnaBelle Miller, four brothers (Everett, Raymond, Emerson, and Jimmy Jones), two sisters (Berniece Miller and Beatrice Miller), four sisters-in-law (Elizabeth Jones, Rista Brainard, Ruth Miller, and Lily Thomas), and five brothers-in-law (Claude Brainard, Eugene Thomas, Harvey Miller, Paul Miller, and Coy Miller) as well as other extended family members.
Ethel Mae was a member of the Christian Church of New Bloomfield for many years and most recently a member of the LaPlata Christian Church. Her church was an important part of her life. Ethel Mae was a mother who considered it a pleasure to care for her children which was only surpassed by her pleasure in caring for her grandchildren. She graduated from New Bloomfield High School in 1933, attended college at Central Missouri State College, and taught at a local school prior to her marriage.
Funeral services will be held at Debo Funeral Home in Holts Summit, MO, on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 11:00am with the Rev Scott McNay of the LaPlata Christian Church officiating. Visitation will be held the evening prior from 5:00 to 7:00 pm with the family. Burial will be at the Middle River Cemetery, Tebbetts, MO.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
