

BERRY, ANN LLOYD (Teeny) NORMENT, 87, a life long resident of Birmingham, passed away March 16, 2013. She attended Lakeview Elementary and graduated from Ramsey High School, where she was a member of TKD sorority and secretary of her senior class. She was also a charter member of Holiday Assembly. She was the youngest of five daughters of Edward Lloyd Norment and Mary Elizabeth Bradshaw Norment.
Lloyd was a member of Mountain Brook Baptist Church for over 50 years. Through the years, she served in many capacities, including deacon. She was also part of a special group of friends known as the “Sewing Circle”. Lloyd was the registrar at Cherokee Bend Elementary for 21 years. She was a member of the Old Elyton Chapter of the D.A.R., the Jefferson County Historical Association, and a sustaining member of the Birmingham Junior League.
Lloyd was characterized by her loving spirit and generous nature. She was always full of joy and known for living life to the fullest! She loved her Lord and Savior, and was devoted to family, friends, and country.
Lloyd was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 49 years, Robert Cecil Berry; her sisters Mary Elizabeth Norment Williams, Beverly Bradshaw Norment Sample Smith, Emily Murray Norment Smith, and Dorothy Minnie Norment Simpson; and her son-in-law Thomas Orlice Clark. She is survived by her daughters Lloyd Clark of Westwood, MA, Cecil (Arnold) Avery of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Caldwell (Edward) Stevenson of Birmingham; her grandchildren Ryan (Cassie) Clark, Kelly (Peter) Gill, Randy (Joy) Clark, Emily (Jayson) Howland, Brad (Katie) Avery, Suzanne (Mark) Chapman, and Wes, Curry, and Mary Ann Stevenson; her great-grandchildren Travis Clark, Andrew Clark, Charlie Clark, Lauren Clark, Elizabeth Gill, Patrick Gill, Regan Gill, Emerson Clark, Pierson Avery, and Collier Avery; her sister-in-law Marjorie Berry; her brother-in-law Ace Simpson; and many treasured nieces, nephews, and their children.
The family would also like to thank the many friends, staff members, and caregivers at The Cottages of St. Martin’s in the Pines for their loving care and kindness to Lloyd and family during her time with them.
A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 on Saturday, March 23, 2013, in the sanctuary of Mountain Brook Baptist Church, 3631 Montevallo Road, Mountain Brook, AL 35213. Following the service, guests will be received by the family in Hudson Hall.
