Arthur "Art" William Fries

Art was born on November 30, 1936, in New York and was the son of the late John Albert Fries and Loretta Veronica O’Hara Fries. He grew up in New York, met and married his loving wife and raised three children together. Upon retirement Arthur and Dottie moved to Fort Myers, Florida. Art has been a resident of Maylene for the past twenty years.

Art was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy “Dottie” Fries. He is survived by his son, Tommy Fries (Tina); two daughters, Debbie Sabatelli and Laurie Respinto (Marco); five grandchildren, Kristin Sabatelli (Kelly), Tiffany Kelly (Shane), Michael Respinto (Shawn), Tiana Marsh (Miles), and Joey Respinto (Kimberley). He is also survived by his five great grandchildren, Adeline, Kaden, Rollins, Kailey, and Jack.

Art served as a Detective Sergeant for Suffolk County Police Department and retired from duty after 26 years of service. Art loved his family and was a very active member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Hoover.

Friends are cordially invited to attend the Celebration of Life service being held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 6th, at Christ the King Lutheran Church located at 611 Riverchase Parkway West, Hoover, Alabama 35244.
