Barbara C. Mills

Barbara Cutcliff Mills, age 85 passed away in Olathe, Kansas on August 14, 2020. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother and friend. Those who knew Barbara will remember her independence, strength, wit and kindness. She was born on October 18, 1934 and was the oldest of four children of Blanche Harter Cutcliff and Leo Miller Cutcliff. Her three siblings survive her: Malachy Donald Cutcliff (Mary Ann) of Tampa, FL, Col (ret) Leo Miller Cutcliff, Jr., (Evelyn) of Universal City, TX and Sandra Holtzclaw of Birmingham, AL. She attended St. Paul's Grammar School, John Carroll High School and University of Alabama at Birmingham. She was married in 1955 to William Eugene Mills and was blessed with three children: Lynn Mills Scholz, (Michael) of Olathe, KS, William (Bill) Eugene Mills, Jr. of Birmingham, AL and Sharon Paige Westbrook of Birmingham, AL. Mrs. Mills is also survived by two grandchildren Caitlin Hurst (Tom) of McKinney, TX and Cameron Scholz (Anna) of Olathe, KS, her great grandson, Liam Scholz and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on August 26, 2020 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Hoover, AL with burial immediately following at Elmwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Knights of Columbus. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association, 2630 Southerland Street, Jackson, Mississippi 29216.
