Bob was proud to be a Vietnam Veteran and served his country as a teletype interceptor, for which he was awarded a Bronze Star. He was a member of the Homewood City Council for two terms, served as a Deacon at Covenant Presbyterian Church, and an Elder at Shades Valley Community Church.
Bob graduated from the University of Alabama with an accounting degree and continued to work as a CPA until his death.
He enjoyed playing golf, having lunch with his men’s Bible study group “Bubbas”, watching Alabama football, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and dog Henry. Bob was a devoted and supportive husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his family, country, and most importantly, the Lord Jesus.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, Henry; his mother, Lucille; and his sister, Faye.
He is survived by the love of his life, Page, with whom he shared 56 wonderful years; his son Steve (Michelle), daughter Graham (Wade), daughter Emily (Rodney), and six grandchildren: Hayden, Camp, Ella, Mary Alice, Walker, and Chace.
The Celebration of Life will be held at Ridout’s Valley Chapel on Friday, January 3rd, 2025, at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider supporting an organization for Veterans.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6).
