Danny is survived by his wife of 11 years, Jessica Guimaraes Vieira, his parents Richard Andrews and Nancy Andrews and his sister Courtney Andrews Abney. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, niece, nephews and friends. He was born in Mobile, AL, grew up in Harvest, AL, graduating from Sparkman High School in 2005. Danny went to Bethel University on academic and golf scholarships where he met Jessica. He graduated cum laude from Bethel in 2009. Danny worked as a personal trainer until he began to pursue a career in dentistry. Danny graduated from University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry in 2017 followed by a one year General Practice Residency at The Foundry. Danny worked at Gooch Family Dental starting in 2018 until he could no longer practice after his diagnosis of AML in April 2023. Danny was very active and enjoyed cycling, playing volleyball, tennis, pickleball, basketball, golf and was a well-known high-level pool player. He was a kind and joyful person who was very intentional about building relationships with those around him. He was the king of “dad-jokes” and put smiles on the faces of those he encountered along the way. The family would like to thank his bone marrow donor who Danny never got to meet who generously donated in an attempt to save his life. We are also thankful for the doctors and nurses at UAB who cared for him throughout these past 15 months.
Funeral services will be Saturday, July 27th at Ridout's Valley Chapel, 1800 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, AL 35209. Visitation is at 10am. Celebration of Life service is at 11am.
The family would appreciate all who knew and loved Danny to come visit and celebrate his life with them. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
