E. Lynn Berryhill, born March 22, 1958, joined God in Heaven on December 10, 2018. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Mr. H.G. Berryhill and Mrs. E. M. Berryhill Bowen. Her loving parents raised four children, of whom Lynn is the youngest. Lynn is blessed with two generations of nieces and nephews. Lynn is survived by her “chosen family” whom she considered her Angels on Earth. Her “chosen family” includes Karen Sanders Crawford, Rob Crawford, Jr. and Lynn Campisi, all of whom reside in the Birmingham Metro area, with their assistance, Lynn was able to stand strong against her multiple diseases, especially Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE).
Lynn was an active person from youth throughout her adult life, until the long arduous fight against Lupus halted her life as she knew it. As she became a young adult, Lynn attended and lived her life in Auburn. She loved the University and she soaked up the village of Auburn in her soul.
Lynn excelled in her studies, graduating from Auburn University with honors. She soon thereafter became acquainted with her life-long career with JBS Mental Health Authority. Lynn worked 30 years in mental health. She retired from JBS Mental Authority, after working her way up through the ranks to Special Assistant to the Executive Director, after 25 very rewarding and interesting years.
Lynn took time out from JBS Mental Health Authority to attend the Advanced Standing Program at Tulane University, School of Social Work in New Orleans, Louisiana. She received her MSW degree in 1987 with a 3.97 GPA. She was soon thereafter licensed as an LCSW and PIP social worker.
Lynn fought a long, progressive battle against Lupus and a myriad of other diseases. Lynn is now at peace, no longer suffering. The survivors request in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Lynn’s name to Lupus Foundation Mid-South Chapter, 4322 Harding Pike # 417, Nashville, TN 37205.
