Elizabeth P. Norton

Elizabeth P. Norton of Vestavia Hills passed away peacefully late in the evening of March 7, 2022. She was born on September 26, 1930 in Birmingham at South Highlands Hospital, the youngest child of Otis L. Pearson and wife, Birdie Eleanor Horton Pearson. She was preceded in death by her lifelong husband, Thomas E. Norton, Sr. and is survived by a Sister, Eleanor P. DeLorme (Dr. Thomas L. DeLorme) of Boston, MA, a Son, Thomas E. Norton Jr. (Dana) of Mtn. Brook, two Grandsons, Thomas Stuart Norton (Anna Belle) of Tuscaloosa and Charles P. Norton (Katherine) of Mtn. Brook, four grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was a member of the Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church, the Trinity Adult Sunday School Class and Circle No. 4 of the United Methodist Women. She was an avid supporter of the Greater Birmingham Humane Society and she and husband Tom were avid golfers and long-time members of Woodward Golf and Country Club and The Club.

A graveside service will be held Friday, March 11, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Elmwood Cemetery, Birmingham, AL, Dr. Michael T. Morgan presiding. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in her memory to the Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church, the Greater Birmingham Humane Society or your favorite charity.
