Eugenia (Jean) Wheeler Neville

Mrs. Eugenia (Jean) Wheeler Neville, 80, of Birmingham, AL died on January 28, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Charles W. Neville, Jr. Mrs. Neville is survived by her five children: Ann Miller, John Neville, Paul Neville, Susan Blazer, and Nancy Hollis and her 13 grandchildren: Wesley Miller, Susanna Miller, Caroline Miller, Luke Miller, Joanna Miller, Daniel Neville, Annabelle Neville, Harrison Neville, Jeffrey Neville, Hannah Blazer, Joshua Blazer, Jonathan Blazer, and Reid Hollis. She is also survived by her brother: Tilman (Tim) E. Wheeler, Jr. of Chattanooga, TN and by her sister: Kathryn M. Wheeler of Birmingham, AL.

Jean was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who lived to serve her family, others, and the Lord Jesus Christ. Her calm, patient and gentle spirit touched the lives of many. She was affectionately known as “Grinky” to her grandchildren.

Jean was a member of Briarwood Presbyterian Church for 33 years, and she loved to volunteer at her church in many different ways, which included faithfully volunteering weekly at the Briarwood Thrift Store. She was a graduate of Auburn University and member of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority.

Memorial Service – Friday, Feb. 1, 11:00 a.m. at Briarwood Presbyterian Church Chapel. Rev. Frank Barker, Jr. will officiate. Mrs. Neville will be buried at Elmwood Cementary.

Visitation – Thursday, Jan. 31, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood.
