

Frances was born on November 6, 1926 to Marvin and Lillie Belle Swafford. She was a graduate of Woodlawn High School in 1944 and South Highland Infirmary School of Nursing in 1949. After graduation, she enjoyed nursing at South Highland Hospital for 15 years and then for 18 years as a nurse in private practive. “Granny”, as she was affectionaly known, was a volunteer for 18 years at Hewitt Trussville Middle School and an assistant troop leader with the Girl Scouts. Frances was also an active member of Central Baptist Church in Argo, AL.
Frances is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Clifford H. Brasher, Sr., her children: Diane Brasher Sullivan, Barbara Brasher Arce and Clifford H. Brasher, Jr.; son-in-laws: David Sullivan, Angel Arce and Jerry Cox; grand-daughters: Jennifer Lynn Cotton, and Kathryn Sullivan Thomas and her husband Michael Thomas.
The funeral service will be held at Ridout’s Valley Chapel on Wednesday, August 19th at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Dewey Corder officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
