Gerald “Gerry” Wiggins Blount, born October 9, 1986, was sent to his eternal home in heaven on Sunday, November 16, 2025. He was preceded in death by his father, David Dean Blount Sr. He is survived by his mother, Margaret; brothers, David (Julie) and John Houston (Isabella); grandmother, Frances; nieces, Annie, Margaret, and Frances; nephews, Houston and Harold; and many cousins, aunts, and uncles, all of whom he loved very much.
Gerry graduated from Mountain Brook High School in 2005 and later attended Birmingham Southern College, where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. A businessman, Gerry built his own audio/video solutions company from the ground up. He loved serving his clients and would often make unconventional sacrifices to meet their needs. Because of this, clients often became friends. Self-taught and self-motivated, he would go on to run the business successfully for over a decade, until the time of his death.
Gerry had a heart of gold and a smile that lit up the room as soon as he entered it. He had a genuine love for people and famously made those he spoke with leave the conversation feeling better about themselves. Gerry never met a stranger or someone he didn’t like because he fixated on the positive and quickly forgot the negative. Although Gerry left us too soon, he will live on in our hearts forever.
A memorial service will be held at Canterbury United Methodist Church on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at 2:00 pm with a visitation at 1:00 pm in the parlor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lovelady Center of Birmingham.
