Henrietta C. Johnson age 93 of Birmingham, AL passed away Friday, August 28, 2015. Mrs. Johnson was born to Anton and Julia Cocek on Jan. 31, 1922 in Waco, TX where she later met the love of her life Searcy H. Johnson Jr. at a USO dance. During their marriage Mrs. Johnson was the recipient of many letters and poems, from her husband, her favorite poem being “I Struck Oil in Texas. She is a long time member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church where she was a member of the St. Ann’s Guild. She is a beloved mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Johnson is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Searcy H. Johnson, Jr., her 4 siblings Billie, Sophie, Emmett, and Tony. She is survived by her children Norma Ogletree, Nancy Morgan, Larry Johnson and 4 grandchildren, Drew Morgan, Connor Morgan, Elizabeth Ogletree, and William Ogletree.
Visitation for Mrs. Johnson will be Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
